ABSTRACT
Reactive powder concrete is an ultra-high-performance concrete. It consists of very fine powder including (cement, sand, silica fume, quartz powder, steel fiber, superplasticizer, and very low water to cementitious ratio). Reducing the high cement content in RPC by replacing it with nano-Al2O3 to produce environmentally friendly RPC is the objective of this study. In this research, we replaced (10%) of the weight of fine aggregate with quartz sand. After that we replaced (0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%) by weight of cement with nano-Al2O3. Compressive strength, flexural strength, and splitting tensile strength tests were performed. The findings exhibited the optimal percentage of nano-Al2O3 was 1% where the (compressive, flexural, and splitting tensile) strength at 28 days increased by (10.57%,20.89% and 15.68%) respectively, in comparison to the reference mixture.
