The urban heat island (UHI) effect is intensified by the thermal properties and low reflectance of conventional pavement materials, with Huancayo being a city with high urban temperatures. Permeable concrete (PC) is therefore presented as an alternative to improve urban quality of life. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the proportions and factorial interaction of aggregate size, color, and plasticizer additive on the thermal conductivity, thermal resistance, and surface albedo of PC. A factorial design (3x5x2) with three replicates was used, with a total of 90 PC test specimens; the Thermtest TLS–100 and a pyranometer were used to evaluate the parameters. The results showed that thermal conductivity was not very sensitive to the factors evaluated, and no statistically significant effects were found. On the other hand, thermal resistance did show significant effects related to the color of the concrete and its interaction with the plasticizer additive. Albedo proved to be the most sensitive variable, where color and its interactions with aggregate size and additive had a notable impact on surface reflectance, with light colors showing the highest values. The design of the PC mixture can affect its thermal and optical performance. This highlights its potential as a strategy to reduce heat absorption and help mitigate the UHI effect. Future research should analyze the behavior of PC in real field conditions, taking into account factors such as humidity, evaporation, material aging, and the use of pigments or reflective additives
